FDNY EMS Local 2507

The FDNY’s EMS Local 2057, which represents more than 4,300 emergency medical technicians  (EMTs), paramedics, and fire inspectors in New York City, retained Butler Associates in early 2020 to build up its media presence and enhance positive awareness of the critical and dangerous life-saving role its members play.  Historically FDNY EMS members important work had been overshadowed by that of other larger first responder groups, which leadership wanted to finally change, in order to strengthen its position with city leadership.

When the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in New York City, the Butler Associates team had already successfully begun it efforts directing all communications for Local 2057 leadership.

Throughout the campaigns, Butler Associates developed press releases, media advisories, editorial page messaging and public statements and pitched interviews resulting in voluminous regional and national print and broadcast feature stories, as well as opinion page editorials from the union’s top leadership.

In fact, with Butler Associates’ news room-type, rapid response capabilities, the leadership and messaging from EMS Local 2507 quickly began dominating news cycle, including multiple features and appearances in the Associated Press, CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, Fox News, CBS News, NBC News, Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg, NPR. Reuters, New York Post, New York Daily News, Newsweek, Business Insider, WNYC/Gothamist, New York 1, Pix 11, Fox 5, 1010 WINS, Spanish language media including Televisa New York, El Diario, and countless more throughout New York and the nation.

While only months earlier this client was struggling mightily to be seen and heard, its messaging and branding  has experienced a 180-degree transformation
